The Thomas Rogers Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the history and genealogy of the Rogers family in America, tracing their lineage back to Mayflower passenger Thomas Rogers. Their website serves as a vital resource for genealogists and history enthusiasts, but they faced a major challenge: an outdated genealogy software integration that was no longer supported.
Our Work
Through our partnership with the Oregon Society of Mayflower Descendants, BosonHub was entrusted with rebuilding and modernizing the WordPress site to ensure it remained both functional and historically significant.
One of the key technical hurdles involved decoupling the legacy genealogy software from the main website, while maintaining accessibility to records. We designed a clean interface that supports seamless navigation between historical archives and the organization’s core content. We also applied best practices in technical consulting and webpage maintenance to support the long-term sustainability of the platform.
Results
The redesigned site offers a vastly improved experience for researchers and family historians. The genealogy archives are now stable, searchable, and accessible without burdening site performance.
Thanks to the improved SEO structure and navigation, the organization has reported greater visibility from organic search and fewer support requests from users confused by the old system.
Ongoing Work
BosonHub continues to provide secure hosting and on-demand updates for the Thomas Rogers Society as new genealogical data is submitted and organized. Future plans may include integration with additional lineage societies or historical content archives.
